We are a community of people who are a work in progress while chasing after and experiencing a life-changing relationship with Christ during our journey together.
We love, no matter what. We struggle. We forgive others. We pray daily. We believe the best and trust God always. We win! And, we invite you to join us! Whoever you are, whatever you do, or wherever you've come from, we invite YOU! Come as you are, but just don't stay that way! Hang out with us for too long and you will not only discover our addiction to coffee but our desire to help people take their next steps toward Christ as we share Him with our world.
LifeRock Church has continued to grow, and the dream has gotten even bigger. LifeRock believes that every person in the Columbia, Missouri area needs to hear the message of Jesus Christ. LifeRock strives to bring a creative and unique element into sharing the message of Christ. Services are designed with your family in mind.
LifeRock began as a dream of Pastors Bob & Debbie Kelley when they were associate pastors at Solid Rock Family Church, in Jefferson City, MO. In the Fall of 2003, Bob & Debbie began meeting with a handful of people, talking about the vision God had given them for Columbia, Missouri.
The original name of LifeRock Church was Church of the Nations. Church of the Nations launched its first public service with a team of 50 people at the American Legion in Columbia on June 6, 2004. After outgrowing the America Legion they went to work transforming a former bar into their place of worship. It was at this time in April of 2010 that the name was changed to LifeRock Church. In 2020 LifeRock Church moved to Cedar Creek Resort as we build our new building at 2811 Rock Quarry Rd.
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, we believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God.
We believe that God is a trinity, manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, Holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good. He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.
Jesus Christ is completely human but, at the same time, completely God. He lived a perfect life, so that He could be a substitution for us in satisfying God’s demands for perfection. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we can have life and forgiveness. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ. God offers every person a relationship with Him through his Son, Jesus Christ.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit’s presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin, God’s righteousness, and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ.
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a free gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts. This is an act of faith in God's grace. We acknowledge that you need to make things right with God.
We believe that water baptism is by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and it is a public declaration of a one’s relationship with Christ. After salvation, a Christian can be baptized with the Holy Spirit, which is evidenced by speaking in other tongues which empowers believers to share their faith in Christ.
