Psalms 139:23-24
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Evaluating Our Lives
As we come into the new year, it's a good time to reflect on our personal growth and development. Just like a business might do a year-end analysis to assess its profitability and identify areas for improvement, we can take a personal inventory of our lives to see what's working and what might need to change.
Inviting God to Search Our Hearts
David prayed in Psalm 139:23, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts." It can be intimidating to invite God to search our hearts, but it's an important step in growing closer to Him and living a life that honors Him. By opening ourselves up to His examination, we can discover areas of our lives that might be hindering our spiritual growth and make changes to align ourselves more closely with His will.
Prioritizing Our Spiritual Well-Being
As you reflect on this past year, ask God to search your heart and show you any areas that might be in need of change. Be open to His guidance and trust in His plan for your life. Remember that He desires for us to grow and thrive spiritually, and He will lead us along the path of everlasting life if we seek Him with an open and willing heart.
Take some time today to pray and ask God to search your heart. Be open to any revelations that may come and ask for the strength and courage to make any necessary changes in your life.
Guided Prayer

I ask for Your guidance and strength as I seek to align my life more closely with Your will. Help me to trust in Your plan for my life and to follow You on the path of everlasting life. Amen.
